Briana Montoya - Research Technician

Briana has been an integral part in establishing the lab. Thanks to Briana, the lab is spotless, organized, and stocked! Aside from keeping the lab running smoothly, Briana is also pursuing a project to understand the mechanism underlying sex differences in spreading depolarizations during the acute phase of hippocampal stroke.

Outside of the lab, Briana is committed to maintaining a healthy balance between her personal life, work, and school. When she's not busy, you’ll often find her traveling or exploring the beautiful mountains of New Mexico, whether it's hiking, camping, snowboarding, or paddleboarding.  She also enjoys expressing her creativity through various art forms, and you will inevitably find one of her doodles around the lab.
